Pedometers
The average American walks less than 3000 steps a day. The average European walks over 10,000 steps a day. If 5280 feet is one mile, I calculate the Americans to be walking less than a mile a day total, and Europeans about 2 miles.
Consider getting a pedometer and see what you typically walk in a day. You can get them at any sporting goods store for about $25-30. No they’re not super accurate but they can give you some idea and you can compare each day. The goal is to
GET MOVING!!!!! Maybe when you know your wearing it you may pace a bit more when you’re on the phone, park further away from buildings, or take the long way to the copy machine or bathroom. Compete with yourself or others. Make a chart and see your progress. Have fun with it.
I wore one to Cedar Point a couple years ago and did 35,000 steps!!!! (It felt like it too.)
