Soda-Pop Bottle Food Model
(To help people or kids quit drinking so much of it)
You will be showing how much sugar is in each bottle by removing the pop and just putting the sugar back in.

Buy a 16 oz or one liter plastic see thru bottle (or find an empty one from a family member)

Rinse it out well and save the caps and don't damage the label

Read the label:
Every 4 grams of sugar = 1 tsp
So 12 grams of sugar = 1 Tbsp

How many grams total?
AND how many SERVINGS per container?
You may be doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling the portion when we use the whole container as a serving.

A 16 oz bottle has around 30 grams or sugar per 8 oz serving
So doubling it will be 60 grams of sugar or 15 Tsp (5 TBSP)
Measure out the sugar and put it back in the container and tighten the lid.

A 1 liter bottle (the newer bigger and more improved) size has 27 grams of sugar per serving and 4 servings which is 108 grams of sugar!!!!! This = 27 tsp or 9 Tbsp. Put that back in the container and tighten the lid.

This makes an impressive food model.
Dentists say everytime you take a sip of pop you bathe your teeth in sugar for 30 minutes. Food for thought. : )

This can also be done with Gatorade/Powerade and those types of drinks. They have 1/4 to 1/3 the sugar of pop.
