Training
Program Websites
If you
are interested in running/walking a race as a way to get in
shape, raise charity money, or for just the social aspect,
there are some great websites that give you a start on how
to properly "train" for these events. You don't
want to overdo it and then risk an injury... but also need
a gradual increased protocol to keep you motivated too.
www.halhigdon.com
is one of the guru's and has well known plans, for 5K's, 10K's,
1/2 marathon, full marathon, specific locations, and ultras
(over 50 miles in one race!!!!) He has schedules for novices,
intermediate, and advanced runners/walkers.
There are also columns and articles
to see too.
The second one is www.coolrunning.com
which has great info too.
