Calories Burned in a Spinning Class

First, convert your current weight to kilograms
By dividing by 2.2.

Example 150# person = 68.2 kilo

Here are the conversions, you'll have to decide how fast and intense you worked out. You can "piece meal" it and add it together or figure out what your average is.

The following numbers are based on ONE HOUR's worth of work.
Take that into consideration on how long the class is.

Bicycling 10-11.9 miles per hour, leisure light effort
Use Kilo weight x 6.0= calories per hour

12-13.9 miles per hour, leisure moderate effort
Kilo weight x 8.0 = calories per hour

14-15.9 miles per hour, racing, fast effort
Kilo weight x 10.0 = calories per hour

16-19 miles per hour, racing very fast
Kilo weight x 12.0 = calories per hour

Over 20 miles per hour, racing
Kilo weight x 16.0 = calories per hour

These factors I'm using are METS or metabolic equivalents determined by the American College of Sports Medicine
